- ECL assays are high affinity autoantibody tests that are more specific than traditionally used RBA assays for the prediction of type 1 diabetes in natural history studies.
- We analyzed RBA and ECL positivitiy with HLA genotypes and haplotypes in 603 TrialNet subjects
- ECL and RBA GAD autoantibody positivity is associated with both HLA DR3 and HLA DR4 haplotypes.
- Only ECL-IAA (but not RBA-IAA) positivity and levels are associated with the HLA-DR4 haplotype
